Wade’s 19 Bench Points Lead US Over Angola

8/12/08 Bejjing China-Team USA went in to yesterday’s game trying to continue there winning ways after there 30 point win over Team China, there opponent, Angola who lost there first game but still wasnt going down easy. 15 seconds into the game and the Angolians had already put two points on the board. The Americans then came back with 5 straight points. The lead was going back and forth, 4 minutes into the game the Americans had a 10-9 lead, that which started a 9-2 run for the Americans, a run that the Angolians were never able to come back from. At the end of the first quarter the Americans were up 29-18. The Americans werent slowing down, starting the second with a 8-3 run. Then LeBron James got hot, scoring 9 points in under 3 minutes. At halftime the Americans had a demanding 55-37 lead. The Angolian defense shut the Americans down for the first two and a half minutes of the third, but Kobe Bryant was able to get to the basket on a dunk. Bryant’s dunk started a American domination led by Dwyane Wade. At the end of three the Americans were destroying the Angolians 81-53. In the 4th the Americans slowed down and allowed 23 when only scoring 16. In the end the Americans won the game 97 to 76. The player of the game was hands down Dwyane Wade, scoring 19 points of the bench. With the win the Americans moved up to 2-0, and earned two points for a total of 4 points. The Angolians went down to 2-0, and moved up to 2 points.
