NY,NY- Last night Brett Farve made his first ever apperence in a Jets uniform, on the playing field. But on the other side was someone who is being compared to Farve, Colt Brenann. Both quarterbacks needed to win this game, to keep there teams undefeated. The game started with a Shaun Suisham touchback. Brett Farve started for his team at the 20. It was an ok drive that went 1-2 on third downs and 1-1 on fourth downs, bt ended up aining 17 yards and punted early. When the skins got the ball they three-and-out, on the punt a 15 yard penaltie was added to the return. That let the Jets start at the Washington 46 yard line. Brett Farve and Co. quikly took advantage, using only 6 plays to score, including the 4 yard touchdown pass by Brett Farve. 7-0, Jets lead early. When the skins got the ball back, they started at there own 19. The Redskins ended the first with the ball on the NY 14. After an incomplee pass, Shaun Suisham came on and made a 33 yard fieldgoal. The Jets were up 7-3, still early though. Both went three-and-out on there next drive, then the Jets went out again. The Redskins had a pretty nice drive, with a first down. But they couldnt hang on and another Redskins punt came. The rest of the second was the teams getting to about the 50, and punting it away. The Jets had a 7-3 lead going into the half. The Jets looked strong, but the question was, could they pull off the win. The Redskins would get the ball first in the second half. Head Coach Jim Zorn decided to bring in Todd Collins for the second half. Todd Collins was able to bring the Skins from there own 31 to the NY 18. The Skins couldnt convert into a touch down, and Suisham made a field goal from 3 yards out. The kickoff went long, all the way to the Jets endzone, but return man J.Chatman ran it out 49 yards to give the Jets great field positioning to start on. The Jets offense got it down to the 25, Nugent had a chance to extend the Jet lead, but missed a 43 yard field goal. The third ended with the Jets on the 50 yard line. Going into the fourth, niether team new how the game would end, not even a slight idea. The score was 7-6, Jets lead with 15 minutes to play. The Jets didnt start the fourth in the best way by punting. But when Washington got the ball they went three-and-out. When the Jets got the ball back, Nugent had to come back up after missing a field goal earlier in the game. But this time he nailed it from 43 yards out. 10-7 the Jets lead with only 9:08 to play. Colt Brennan and Co. didnt ge anything done on there next drive. The Jets were waisting time off the clock, there next drive taking 4:41. The Skins got the ball back with only 2:14 left to play. Colt Brennan quikly threw a 37 yard pass to McMullen, putting the at the NY 43 going into the 2 minute warning. Mason was able to get a fur-teen yard rush, followed by a sack by Spencer to bring the Skins back four yards. 2nd down and 14, from the Jets 33, Jets lead 10-6. Not for long, Brennan threw an awesome pass over the middle for the touchdown, and a late 13-10 lead. The Jets started on there own 24 yard line with 1:02 to play. They were able to bring the ball down to the Skins 5. It was a matter of decesion, what should the Jets do. Go for the game winning TD, or tie it up at 13 and go into over time. The Jets chose to go for the Field Goal.It was a simple 23 yard attempt. Nugent came up to kick, but the presure got to him. The ball bounced of the left upright and flew away. The game was over, the skins won 13-10 in a good one. My prediction from the preview was right, the skins did win by three. The skins improved to 3-0 and the Jets went down to 1-1.
Redskins Season Preview
•August 16, 2008 • No CommentsThere are alot of questions about the Redskins this season. There new head coach Jim Zorn will make them play a west-coast offense. Jason Tayor came to town while Brandon Llyold left for chicago. The skins also lost Mark Brunell, who was a star in DC. Will the skins be able to ajust to this new playing style and these new players? Will the Skins be able to get over there injury problems. There are so many questions for the skins going into the season. Theve been fairing well in the presaeson with wins against both the Colts and the Bills.
Over the off season the off season the skins made alot of changes. With Jim Zorn becoming the head coach, Jason Taylor coming, Mark Brunnel and Brandon Lloyd leaving. The Redskins star reciver Santana Moss as you might know is having injury probelems. So to improve on that they used two of there 3 second round picks on recivers, and one on a tight end. Some say this was a bad idea, I dont think so, with the skins new west coast offense they need to improve there receving game. Malcom Kelly, Fred Davis and Devin Thomas were exelent recevers in college and are expected to do the same in the NFL. The Redskins needed to improve there defense this season, and they did with the signing of d-line man Jason Taylor. With Taylor the line will be alot better, but after the loss of Sean Taylor, the skins secndary hasnt been as good as it was before. The thing that the skins did wrong in the draft wasnt taking three recivers, but taking three d-line men, and then trading for Taylor. The skins should have been focusing on there secondary, getting at least one player.
Drafting Colt Brennen was a good idea, they neede someone who was under the age of thirty to throw the ball. Also signing Nehemiah Broughton brang much needed bach up to the aging Mike Sellers. As Clinton Portis is slowlly aging Ladell Bettis will have to step up to the plate and hit a home run, instead of doubling like he normally does. Im pre dicting the Skins are good enough to finish 1st-2nd in the NFC east and be ranked 4th-5th going into the playoffs. Good luck to the skins this season.

•August 15, 2008 • No CommentsPhi,PA. The Carolina Panthers went into Philedelphia yesterday to win anothere game and go to 2-0. The Eagles on the other hand, were trying to win there first preseason game at home. The Game started out slowly with the first ten minutes scorless. Then with 5:14 left in the first, the rain kicked in and there was a 45 minute delay. But with 47 seconds left in the second, the Panthers were able to get on the board first with a 78 yard interception return by Richard Marshall. After another slow second the Panthers were able to score again with a 28 yard field goal by John Kasay. The Panthers were up 10-0 going into the half. The second half started out well for the Eagles going 30 yards in 6 plays, but there rout ended with an interception. The Eagles would get the ball back and get 51 yards on there next drive, and would end up punting it away. The Panthers had a horrible third with a total of zero yards in three drives. After a scoreless third, the forth was under way. The Panthers started the forth with a field goal. But the Eagles were able to bring the ball to the endzone and get on the board with a 33 yd pass from Kevin Kolb to Greg Lewis. 30 seconds later the Eagles got a field goal, closing the Carolina lead to three. Minutes later the Eagles would take the lead on a 51 yd punt return by Tony Hunt. With 10 seconds to play the Eagles sealed the deal on a Justin Roland 74 yard interception return. In the end the Eagles were able to win at home, 24-13. The Eagles had an extrordnairy fourth quarter come back scoring on all three of there fourth quarter drives, not including a touchdown on an interception return. Also in this game Asante Samuel and Jake Delhomme saw there first acton of the year, both coming off injury.

Redskins vs. Jets preview
•August 14, 2008 • No CommentsOn August 16th the Washington Redskins will go to New York to take on the New York Jets. This will be the Redskins first away game of the pre-season, and the Jets first home game. The Jets are also 0-2 when the Redskins are 2-0, but according to CBS sports,ESPN, Washington Post and USA Today that will change. All three picked the Jets to win by atleast 3. Personally, I’m saying the can win the game in a stadium other than Fed-ex.But it wont be easy, the Jets have a secret weapen under there sleeve in there new QB Brett Farve. But the Redskins have something up there sleeve, history. Since 2001 the skins have won both games between the two teams by 3(23-20 and 16-13). My pick is the Skins by 3. Good luck to both teams in this game.

AL wins in 15, Drew named MVP
•July 16, 2008 • No CommentsNew York. Yesterday at Yankee Stadium the best players from both the AL and the NL came together. Teams like the Yankees and Red sox forgot there rivvalry’s and came together. After the 45 minute opening ceromoney the game finnaly began. The first four innings were scorless. After the first four scorless innings the NL finnaly got on the board with a Matt Holliday solo homer. Then in the sixth , Berkman scraficed to center, brinnging Ramerez home from third. But in the seventh the AL came back with JD. Drew’s two-run homerun. In the eighth the NL took back the lead with Gonzalazes scrafice fly that brang ex-oriole now Astro, Miguel Tejada home. THe AL came back again in the bottom of the eighth with Sizemore’s run off of Longoria’s double. After a scoreless top of the ninth, Ryan Dempster came on and struck out three in a row. In the bottom of the tenth the AL got the bases loaded with 0 outs, after Uggla’s two strait errors. Got out three strait times to end the innings. The AL had another chance in the eleveth, but got out on an amazing play at home by catcher Russle Martin. In the top of the twevth the NL loaded the bsases with one out. After Soria struck out Uggla, the O’s George Sherril came on and struck out Gonzales to end the inning. In the twevth for the AL. There were runners at second and third, but the Rangers Ian Kinsler grounded out. In the 13th the AL had JD Drew on second with two away, but Carlos Quinton struck out. Both teams went 1-2-3 in the fourteenth. In the 15th NL got Wright on base with a walk, couldnt get him home. Bottom of the fifteenth, I thought this game would never end. But the AL was able to load the bases with one out, but un like last time they didnt get out. With one out in the bottom of the 15th Mike Young sacraficed flied, and brang home Mourneu for the win. This game was the longest game in All-star history. At the end JD drew was named MVP with his two-run homer that kept the AL alive. Also, Dan Uggla’s 3 error’s were the most ever error’s by one player in the All-star game. So, i was right, AL did win. But I didn’t expect the game to go to 15. This was the AL’s thirteenth strait All-star game win.
Ray’s lose seventh strait.
•July 14, 2008 • No CommentsThe Ray’s went to Cleveland yesterdy for two reason’s. One, to brake there twelve game losing streak in Cleveland. Two, to brake there own 7 game losing streak that took away there lead in the east. Neither happened. The Rays took an early 2-0 lead, but the Indians came back to tie it. Later in the 5th the Indians took the lead off of Peltra’s two-run homerun. And Maltre extended there lead to 3 with a solo homer. At the end the Indians won 5-2. With the loss the Ray’s lost there 13th strait game in Cleveland, the longest streak in the MLB. Also they lost there seventh strait. But, don’t expect to stay like this. There are two reasons, first the all-star break is here. Second, the number seven is a lucky number, so they might get lucky and win. But for now there still on a losing streak.

Still in the eighth Rowand singled Molina home. The Giats were going the ninth down 5, they needed to score, and score a lot. The scoring started with Durham’s single that brang Oacha home. Molina came back up and singled, scoring Casstilla and getting Durham to second. Later with the basses loaded Bownker grounded to fielder’s choice, Rowand out, Durham scored Molina to third. Then with two outs, basses loaded down two, it was up to Alfonso to keep the game going. Alfonso reached first with an in-field single, Molina scores, thriot makes a throwing error, Burress scores.
